Role

As the Head of Data, you will oversee the development and use of our data systems. You will discover efficient ways to organize, store and analyze data with attention to security and confidentiality. You can grasp the complexity of data management and you have a strong understanding of databases and data analysis procedures. You are tech-savvy and possess excellent troubleshooting skills. The goal is to ensure that information flows timely and securely to and from the organization as well as within. As the lead of our Data Team you will be working closely with several Teams and ensure they are getting the best insights and the most effective/ efficient results out of each Marketing Campaign. You will also work closely with our Product Team to optimize our platform. Generally, you anticipate how decisions are made, understand the details of data management and data analytics. You are a self starter with a bias to action, you have fantastic team spirit and you are able to think outside the box.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish the Data organization at Grivy
  • Foster deep partnerships with supermarkets, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods companies, Telecommunications Companies and Consumer Electronics Companies
  • Manage all incoming and outgoing data files on partners and individual properties
  • Create and enforce policies for effective data management
  • Streamline data collection and analysis procedures to ensure fast access to metrics
  • Review data for inconsistencies or anomalies that could skew analytical results
  • Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and company standards
  • Provide deep technical guidance at both the mathematical as well as the technology-stack level
  • Assist with reports and data extraction when needed
  • Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them
  • Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses
  • Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a data manager and a Ph.D. Computer Science or equivalent (with a focus on Machine Learning) in a relevant field
  • Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, preparation, update, process, interpretation, control/ distribution etc.)
  • Great communication skills across a wide range of interactions, with fellow ML experts, scientists, as well as commercial entities
  • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and the ability to extrapolate conclusions from large data sets
  • Excellent level of initiative, hands-on mentality, motivation, and strong communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Experience in managing marketing campaigns and/or managing analytically oriented projects with large consumer impact is a plus
  • Experience with Apache, SQL databases, Perl, Python and other related application is a plus
